Spaghetti Supper : Food and Song for the Soul (Reprise)

To our friends and family, known and as yet unknown :
At long last, the South Shore Saints (aka Chorale a cappella South Shore) will host our renowned Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, September, 27, 2025 ! If you haven't been to one, you don't know what you've been missing ! (See here, here, here, and here.)
Why spaghetti? For one thing, it’s one of the most popular dishes in the world. Growing up in Southern California, my favorite restaurant was the Spaghetti Factory. When my I got married in Japan, where Italian cuisine is a mainstay, we booked a trattoria near Komazawa Olympic Park for our wedding. Spaghetti has remained one of our family’s simplest, hearty, and satisfying meals. Given its popularity among people of all ages, it is arguably one the most global soul foods. It reminds us of home, family, and good times.
At this event, you have the option of being served freshly boiled pasta (or gluten-free spaghetti squash) with a variety of sauces made by individual chorus members (meat and vegetarian, both with spicy non-spicy options). Your meal also comes with a starter salad (courtesy of our former president Guy Filion and his wife Raymonde) and a wide choice of desserts, many of them home-made (courtesy of Steve Wheaton, our assistant director), again with gluten-free options. It’s no wonder why this event has become a tradition over the years.
Spaghetti Supper wouldn’t be complete, however, without that other soulful component : an irresistible sampling of barbershop a cappella repertoire, finely prepared, honed, and delivered hot by our chorus and quartets, just like our spaghetti. For all of us, this style of singing makes our souls stir.
So come join us for a soul-filled night with a hearty meal, companionship, and uplifting songs.
See you here !
